Program 4
Program 4 (Combined License & Ph.D.) – Complete Phase 1
Procedures and Requirements:
Individuals who already hold a Masters degree in counseling or a related field may elect to complete the requirements for license and qualify for a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Clinical Christian Counseling.
• Completion of Creation Therapy
• One (1) Pastoral Reference
• Two (2) Personal References
Complete Phase 1
Each candidate must complete the following six (6) courses
• Basic Christian Counseling
• Temperament Theory
• Temperament Therapy
• Introduction to Psychology & Counseling
• Temperament Case Studies
• Testing / Measurement (Graph Analysis)
Additional Requirements:
a) Written responses to 50 ethical questions posed by N.C.C.A.
b) Administer (10) additional T.A.P’s (A.P.S.)
c) $50.00 for first year’s annual dues. (Payable to N.C.C.A.)
d) Complete C.A.I. Application checklist for N.C.C.A. Membership and Certification
After completing all of the requirements for Phase 1, the student will (assuming everything is in order) receive:
• Certified Temperament Counselor and
• Clinical Member (non-clergy) or Professional Clinical Member (clergy)
Program 4 (Combined License & Ph.D.) – Complete Phase 2
Procedures and Requirements:
Individuals who already hold a Masters degree in counseling or a related field may elect to complete the requirements for license and qualify for a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Clinical Christian Counseling.
• Completion of Creation Therapy
• One (1) Pastoral Reference
• Two (2) Personal References
Complete Phase II
Each candidate must complete the following five (5) courses:
• Written responses to a 500 Question Open Book Equivalency Examination on the Bible (old and New Testament – KJV)
• Christian Psychology and Counseling
• Mastering Pastoral Counseling
• Counseling the Codependent
• Case Studies (Practicum) Laboratory (Internship)
Additional Requirements:
a) Administer (10) additional T.A.P.’s (A.P.S.)
b) A licensing fee of $100.00 (payable to N.C.C.A.)
After successfully completing all of the requirements for Phase II, the candidate will (assuming everything is in order) receive:
• Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor
Or, if it best describes the candidate’s local ministry, he/she may request to be licensed as a Licensed Clinical Christian Counselor (regardless of degree level)
Program 4 (Combined License & Ph.D.) – Complete Phase 3
Procedures and Requirements:
Individuals who already hold a Masters degree in counseling or a related field may elect to complete the requirements for license and qualify for a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Clinical Christian Counseling.
• Completion of Creation Therapy
• One (1) Pastoral Reference
• Two (2) Personal References
Complete Phase III
Each candidate must select and complete twelve (12) Continuing Education courses:
Additional Requirements:
Each candidate must, upon completion of the required courses, submit the following:
a) One (1) copy of a written dissertation. This normally consists of 35 additional T.A.P.s (case studies) developed using the A.P.S. reports. A format is provided in the course titled “Temperament Case Studies”.
b) A letter authorizing N.C.C.A. to transfer the academic records to the approved college.
c) Matriculation and transfer fees of $2,000.00
d) $50.00 made payable to N.C.C.A. to upgrade the candidate’s license to the Ph.D. level of Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor-Advanced Certified.
After successfully completing all of the requirements for the Phase III, the candidate will (assuming everything is in order) receive:
• Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor — Advanced Certified and
• Appropriate Board Certification certificates for selected specialty areas and
• Ph.D. in Clinical Christian Counseling
