Creation Therapy

CT001

This course is the foundation for all courses offered at FFMSCC and is the starting point for every student pursuing certification and/or licensing as a Christian Counselor. The introductory course alone is recommended to those who desire to learn who they are and how God intended them to be. This course can be taken independently.

The introductory course is composed of classroom sessions that are two hours in length and run for ten weeks. The objectives of the Intro course are as follows:

• Learn what causes relationship conflicts and how to resolve them.
• Learn the structure of human behavior and how God’s plan works when understood and applied.
• Learn the foundational characteristics of the different temperaments
• Qualify to administer and review the Temperament Analysis Profile.

Ethic & Licensure                     800

Overview of ethical standards in Pastoral Counseling and portfolio preparation for NCCA License.

Certification is awarded upon successful completion of all requirements. Certification is the authority to administer the Tmperament Analysis Profile, and should not be confused with licensing. Individuals who desire to counsel using the TAP must complete Phase I & II of the licensing program

Phase I

First year introductory program for licensing as a Christian Counselor. Prerequisite to Phase II.

Basic Christian Counseling 301A

Modern Psychotherapies from a Christian perspective, intense study of twelve psychotherapies used in counseling and psychology.

Temperament Theory 301B

This course will introduce the student to the fundamentals of temperament, and a basic overview of how the temperament works. It is designed to prepare the student to quickly acquire the basics of temperament, and to build confidence in the concept of Temperament Theory and Therapy.

Temperament Therapy 303

This course will equip the student with the knowledge of new concepts in research and practical application of Temperament Therapy.

Graph Analyzation 302

This course will familiarize the student with the mathematical scores diagnostically identified in the five temperaments. Each temperament will be examined and discussed in great detail.

Introduction to Psychology & Counseling 601

A historical, biological, spiritual, and practical understanding of counseling and psychology. This course teaches the student how to apply the Christian perspective of psychology according to the Word of God.

Case Studies 609

The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to actual case studies, and to help him/her come to a better understanding of how to counsel the many varieties of disorders. Through actual case studies submitted by NCCA’s licensed counselors, the student is given an in-depth insight into the effective use of Temperament Theory and Therapy.

Phase II

Second year program for licensing as a Christian Counselor. Prerequisite Phase I.

500 Questions – (full year) 500

This is a Theological Research course equivalent to two years of Bible school. It is given to the students at the beginning of Phase II and they are to complete it by the end of Phase II. it is sent back to the college for grading. This course is a 6-semester credit, which is equivalent to 18 credit hours.

Christian Psychology & Counseling – Pt. 1 602

This is a two-part course. It will introduce the student to the theory and practice of psychology, and provide a biblically based theology for Christian counseling. This course integrates Temperament Therapy into general psychological technique

Christian Psychology & Counseling – Pt. 2 603

This portion of the course will give the student a clear understanding of psychological terminology which will assist in the identification and care of human emotional disorders. Covers the importance of applying the Word of God for general areas of need in counseling.

Mastering Pastoral Counseling 607

The overall goal for this course is to help the student to understand how Biblically based counseling and education programs can be effectively applied in the life and ministry of the local church and community.

Co-dependency 612

The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to the study of co-dependency with an emphasis on temperaments and applying Temperament Theory and Therapy in identifying, understanding, and counseling clients with co-dependency.

Practicum & Internship 801

This course offers training and experience in the field of counseling. Students will undergo an extensive program of training, evaluation, and supervision before final release of their license.
