CEC 1 Innovative Approaches in Counseling
This course provides a refreshing approach to people-helping. It provides practical, simplistic formulas with evidence as to why they work. There are carefully thought-out conclusions with a careful use of Scripture.
CEC 4 Counseling Those with Eating Disorders
Understanding the complicated interplay dynamics found in eating disorders. Some issues contain other issues which overlap and recur. Some of the areas addressed in this course are Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia.
CEC 5 Counseling the Depressed
Therapeutic principles and a clear understanding of depression are well defined in this course. Students receive the training needed to address the problems associated with depression.
CEC 6 Counseling for Family Violence & Abuse
Basic components of family violence are explored. The definition and history for each type of abuse are provided along with instructions for giving help to the victim and abuser, covering three areas: 1) Spousal Abuse, 2) Child Abuse, 3) Elder Abuse.
CEC 7 Counseling in Times of Crisis
Provides understanding surrounding issues in a crisis situation as well as the principles that can help one face a crisis.
CEC 9 Counseling & the Search for Meaning
Course provides the student with examples, theory mixed with practical directions, and biblical conclusions. this course is presented in short, easy to comprehend chapters, covering most situations that a counselor will encounter when helping individuals searching for meaning in life.
CEC 10 Counseling for Unplanned Pregnancy & Infertility
This course is divided into three sections. The students will learn: 1) how to conceptualize the problem and ways to help the family, 2) how to deal with pregnancies that are too early (teenage pregnancies, pregnancies before marriage, and pregnancies too soon after a recent birth), 3) births that are too late or that never occur.
CEC 11 Counseling for Problems of Self-control
Understanding how to help people identify and resolve the root problems which are causing one’s inability to exercise self-control.
CEC 12 Counseling for Substance Abuse & Addiction
Answers to important questions about drugs and why people use them. Examining the fundamental principles which will aid the student in their preparation to counsel those who suffer addictions.
CEC 13 Counseling & Self-esteem
Provides the counselor with an understanding of self-esteem as a fundamental ingredient to one’s spiritual, emotional, and social health. It teaches accurate biblical views of self-esteem and gives counseling strategies that can be used for building self-esteem.
CEC 14 Counseling Families
This course furnishes the student with numerous charts and lists to aid in practical applications of more effective family counseling.
CEC 15 Counseling & Homosexuality
The student will learn that change is possible and that miracles and hard work transform lives. the student learns to help clients gain self-understanding and move forward in new patterns of behavior.
CEC 16 Counseling for Anger
Provides the proper methods for addressing the problem of anger. Also provides help in understanding the factors of anger, basis for counseling anger, and how to control and express anger.
CEC 20 Counseling the Sick & Terminally Ill
This course is illustrated with numerous case histories and relevant biblical references. It builds on a creative counseling model and is written in a language that is understandable. It will prepare the student with the skills needed to minister to the sick and terminally ill.
CEC 21 Counseling Adult Children of Alcoholics
ACOA is a relatively new term, but an age-old problem. This course provides information about the family background, personal characteristics, and common problems which face the adult children of alcoholics.
